The European project will have meaning and support if it helps improving the living standards of European citizens. The progressives strive to enhance socio-economic outcomes for the European people and are committed to a wellbeing agenda.

Health is a political and economic issue. Social democracy needs to offer viable solutions for the area that has always constituted its core: public health and access to quality health care services for all.

Building on the embryonal concept of the European Health Union, protected by the European Pillar of Social Rights, it is crucial to bolster ambitions and identify health policy as an area in which the EU should be more active and impactful, and help member states and local authorities to deliver on the premises of inclusiveness, access, quality and sustainability.
