This public seminar was the opportunity to present to the Italian public the first results of the ‘Recovery Watch‘ research project. The Recovery Watch is a research project by a structured network of experts to monitor the implementation of National Recovery and Resilience Plans (NRRP) and assess their impact on key social outcomes.

The event, held in Italian and taking place at the CNEL in Rome, was promoted by Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS), Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) and Institut Emile Vandervelde (IEV), with the support of Forum Disuguaglianze e Diversità. Its objective was to understand how the NRRP will shape the transformation of our society.

Building on a study that examines the governance of the NRRPs, their place sensitivity and the interactions with civil society, social partners and local administration, the seminar presented three sub-focuses linked to three other policy contributions of the project:
1) Care policies and their gender dimension;
2) Childcare policies;
3) Climate measures and their impact on employment, particularly in the energy and automotive sectors.

The results of the policy studies were discussed with national and local policymakers, with civil society organizations, as well as national and international experts.

Among the participants:

  • Fabrizio Barca, Co-coordinator Forum Disuguaglianze e Diversità and former Minister
  • Tiziano Treu, President of CNEL
  • Alessandra Faggian, Director of Social Sciences, Gran Sasso Science Institute
  • Laeticia Thissen, Policy Analyst for Gender Equality, FEPS
  • Francesco Corti, Research Fellow, Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS)
  • Maria Enrica Virgilito, Assistant Professor in Economic Policy at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies
  • Chiara Gribaudo, Member of Italian Chamber of Deputies, PD
  • Vanessa Pallucchi, Spokesperson for Forum del Terzo Settore
  • Laura Lieto, Deputy Mayor and City Councillor for Urban Planning of the City of Naples

Moderated by David Rinaldi, FEPS Director of Studies and Policy
